As of Nov. 12, 2024, Chris Brown has earned his first Diamond plaque for hit songs “No Guidance” feat. Drake. Additionally, he’s received new Gold and Platinum certifications for other timeless hits of his including “Under The Influence” from his 2019 album Indigo, and “With You” and “Take You Down” from 2007’s Exclusive.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Brown’s Drake collab is now 11-times Platinum (Diamond), and “With You” is now six-times Platinum. As for “Under The Influence,” the repurposed track has reached Platinum status five-times. To add, Breezy has earned Platinum plaques for first-time tracks: “Call Me Everyday” featuring Wizkid, “Heat,” “Indigo,” and Heartbreak On A Full Moon‘s “To My Bed.”

As for Gold achievements—Brown’s Breezy album has finally reached the feat along with singles “Juicy Booty feat. Jhene Aiko and R. Kelly, “WE (Warm Embrace),” “Angel Numbers/Ten Toes,” and “How We Roll” feat. Ciara.

From the 35-year-old’s debut in 2005 to present day, Brown has continued to make undeniable musical marks that few artists can rival.

Despite his past challenges and legal woes, the father-of-three’s loyal TeamBreezy fanbase has devotedly continued to support and celebrate his work. His peers have also compared him to Michael Jackson status—which some have debated.

Most recently, Brown announced that he’d be visiting South Africa to perform for his fans overseas. However, the music news helmed much backlash from the country’s Women’s Rights activists, but yet, sold out in less than two hours.

“When I saw the news that Chris Brown was coming to South Africa, I was shocked and deeply disappointed,” stated Sabina Walter, executive director of Women for Change. However, Brown also has a huge fanbase in South Africa.

Former University of Cape Town vice-chancellor Prof Mamokgethi Phakeng took to X to share that she’d be attending the concert if CB does show up.

“I am going to attend Brown’s concert if he comes. These two things are not mutually exclusive,” she wrote. “To suggest that enjoying a concert aligns you with every past action of the artist is, at best, simplistic and, at worst, intellectually dishonest. [The] music is bigger than the individual. Attending the concert does not magically erase our moral stance on GBV.”

Aside from his South Africa drama, Breezy also sold out two shows scheduled for Brazil in December.

Despite what some critics may feel, there are others who believe Chris Brown deserves his flowers as one of the most talented artists of today.
