She was the belle of the ball
Anne Hathaway looks regal on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2025 Met Gala.
The actor walked the carpet tonight in a crisp white dress shirt with a collar so wide it nearly enveloped her entirely. She tucked the shirt into a beaded maxi skirt in a black and silver striped pattern, and paired it with sky-high black heels. But the piece that really took the spotlight was Hathaway’s massive diamond necklace with a giant rectangular sapphire at the center, from Bulgari.
Hathaway wore the Carolina Herrera look with a super-high, voluminous ponytail adorned with a little black bow.

Hathaway was photographed walking into Moda Operandi’s party—and she even stayed true to the Costume Institute exhibit’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the Met Gala dress code, “tailored for you,” in a sleek power suit from Versace. She wore the structured blazer and tailored pants with a pristine white dress shirt, strappy black heels, and a slouchy golden bag that went with her gold jewelry. To cap it all off: extra-large black sunglasses.

At the 2023 event, which paid homage to Chanel’s late creative director Karl Lagerfeld, Hathaway was angelic in a sweeping white tweed Versace gown. The piece had cutouts all over that were fastened with gold safety pins and decorated with white faux pearls.
In 2018, she wore a voluminous red gown with an open back. In 2015, she was radiant in a gold dress with an elegant hood. In 2014, she wore a bight red two-piece set. In 2013, she went punk in sheer black lace and an ice-blonde hairdo. And in 2010, she channeled her Princess Diaries character in a shimmering gold ball gown. Ah Anne, the woman that you are.
