It’s been a rollercoaster of a ride for Simone Biles ever since the 2024 Paris Olympics ended. Traveling the country with her Team USA mats for the second edition of the Gold Over America Tour and doing shows across the nation has been a grueling but fulfilling experience for the gymnastics GOAT. Naturally, she was feeling the blues when the 30-show-long tour finally ended. But thankfully, some people can help her smile even during her sadness.
In her Instagram story from November 11, Biles wished her “twin” a happy birthday and seemed to be in good spirits. In her latest social media update, the Houston native was seen grooving with her WCC buddy Zoe Miller, a two-time Pan American Games gold medalist. On Monday, Miller turned 19 and now stands on the verge of her teenage years. Understandably, Biles felt somewhat upset at her gymnastics successor’s growing up.
“Stop growing up…my heart,” wrote Biles in her IG story with a sad-looking emoji, capturing her feelings on the matter. Although Miller is much younger than Simone, the two have quite some time together at the gym owned by the Olympic gold medalist’s parents. Their reunion happened after a long time, and Biles marked the occasion by noting that the “double trouble is back.” Before this year’s Winter Cup, Miller sustained a severe shoulder injury, that prompted her to bid goodbye to elite gymnastics. Naturally, Biles elation at being at Zoe’s side to celebrate te latter’s birthday isn’t unjustified. However, Biles’ recent days have been a streak of heartbreak nonetheless.
The recent Presidential election of the USA was one of the biggest reasons behind Biles’ frowns in the past few days. As the entire nation waited with batted breath to see who will be taking charge of things at the White House for the next four years, Biles pledged her support to Kamala Harris on social media, making it clear that she won’t be one to lend support to Donald Trump. While her wishes didn’t pan out, Biles made a last ditch plea to the exiting POTUS Joe Biden to do something titular before leaving his office.
However, Simone doesn’t have any option other than accepting the verdict of the election and going on with her life. But winning the 2024 Critics Choice Documentary Awards for her Netflix docu-series Simone Biles: RISING might have been something to help her forget the woes and find pleasure in the finer things of life. On top of things, it looks like Biles is missing the action after two months on the road with her gymnastics brethren, spreading golden magic for the second edition of the Gold Over America Tour.
“Welp, what a tough week,” wrote the gymnastics icon on her recent social media update, underscoring her disheartened feeling after the conclusion of the G.O.A.T. extravaganza. But having Miller around her finally seemed to bring back the peppy side of Biles that her fans are so fond of. What else do you think could make Simone feel better in the coming days? Tell us below!
