During Coachella 2025’s first weekend, Chris Brown and his ex Karrueche Tran were spotted having a friendly conversation eight years after she filed a restraining order against him.

Chris Brown has reunited with an ex.

During day three of Coachella’s opening weekend, the “Under The Influence” artist and Karrueche Tran were seen engaging in what appeared to be a friendly interaction on April 13.

Tran—dressed in black jeans, a chain belt, cropped tank top and black bandana—smiles and laughs in the photos with Brown, who for his part wears a black t-shirt, gold chains and a baseball cap.

The conversation at Coachella between the two comes eight years after Tran was granted a restraining order against Brown after they dated which was designated for five years starting in 2017.

As seen in documents obtained by E! News at the time, Tran claimed Brown had been harassing her, including that he “threatened to kill me to others, threatened me via text messages and threatened to harass my friends.”

The actress further claimed, “Around the second week of February, he told a few people that he was going to kill me. He said if no one else can have me, then he’s gonna ‘take me out.'”

At the time, while Brown didn’t respond directly to Tran’s claims, he did write on Instagram, “Make sure y’all don’t be listening to all this bulls–t, man. What all them other people on the outside doing, let them do what they doing. I don’t know what the f–k they talking about.”

But while the once-couple’s relationship may have been strained at the time, almost a decade later the exes appeared to be more than civil while they took in the music and all Coachella 2025 has to offer.

Among the other stars roaming the grounds of Indio, California, were couple Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, who held hands as they entered the festival.

For her part, the beauty mogul wore a cropped white t-shirt and matching jeans, a stylish polka-dotted, mini handbag on her shoulder, while the Dune star donned a brown t-shirt, black cargo shorts, sunglasses, backwards hat and backpack.

Photographs and videos of the pair shared to social media April 12 saw Jenner and Chalamet embracing and making out while watching Charli XCX’s April 12 performance.
