Anne Hathaway has welcomed a healthy baby boy.

The 33-year-old gave birth to her child on March 24 in Los Angeles. She and her husband Adam Schulman revealed the good news on Thursday.

The happy couple also revealed that they had chosen a very traditional name for their son, who is now just over a week old.

The actress and her spouse named their first born Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman, according to E! News.

A source told E! News: ‘The baby is extremely healthy and is surrounded by friends and family in LA. Anne and Adam are ecstatic to be parents.’

The birth of the baby came just a few weeks after the brunette beauty enjoyed a ‘relaxed’ baby shower with friends in March.

The 33-year-old star was joined by a bunch of close pals – including Matthew McConaughey’s wife Camila Alves – at the celebration.

A source said at the time: ‘Anne was one of the first people to arrive. She looked relaxed and happy to be there.

‘There was a lot of chatter and laughter throughout the afternoon. Many times there was giggling and clapping because all of the ladies were having so much fun.’

Another insider added: ‘They seemed excited to get inside the party. At the end of the shower, they helped pack up all the gifts. He’s been helping Anne shop a lot for the baby. They’ve been ordering a bunch online too. They are as happy as clams.’

The Princess Diaries star began dating Adam in 2008. They later announced their engagement in November 2011, exactly three years after their romance began.

The two wed in a gorgeous ceremony on the California coastline in Big Sur on September 29 2012.

The announced they were expecting their first child in November 2015, seven years after they first began dating.
