Simone Biles Is Mentoring Alongside Snoop Dogg, While This Gymnastics Star Once Had ‘The Voice’ Coaches Shocked

Among the celebrities who traveled to Paris to support Team USA, rapper Snoop Dogg stood out. The multi-platinum-selling musician commented during the Summer Game, interacted with Team USA’s stars and even handed out gifts to some of their family members, including Simone Biles‘ father. Now, the 53-year-old is bringing Ron Biles’ daughter into his world.

Yes, the 53-year-old sports fanatic has enlisted the three-time Paris Olympic gold medalist’s help for Season 26 of The Voice. There are five of Snoop Dogg’s artists competing to progress beyond the playoff for season 26. Hence, Biles has been fittingly named the Playoff Advisor for the artist with the third most Grammy Awards nominations. However, you may be asking, ‘What does the Olympian know about singing or rapping?’ and you wouldn’t be wrong.

However, Simone Biles didn’t instruct the participants on how to ace their performances. Instead, where Simone Biles advised them on how to overcome adversity, according to NBC. “For us, it was about instilling confidence going into the next week,” Biles told the Associated Press ahead of the episode premiering on Monday. Yet. There was an Olympic gymnast who came to The Voice, not as an advisor but as a participant.

In April 2022, 2020 Tokyo Olympics star Dominic Clarke blew the collective minds of The Voice Australia’s judging panel. All it took was 23 seconds for the trampoline-gymnast to compel Guy Sebastian to turn his chair around. Rita Ora followed suit just seconds later as Clarke continued to perform a soulful rendition of Sam Fischer’s 2020 hit ‘This City.’

By the end of his performance, Jessica Mauboy and country music icon Keith Urban were all facing the Tokyo 2020 finalist. They even honored the gymnast and singer with a standing ovation. However, it wasn’t until Sebastian questioned the Australian gymnast about his Olympic rings tattoo that the 27-year-old revealed his gymnastics history.

However, in quite a twist, Clarke proclaimed singing on stage “way scarier” than performing at the Olympics. “Because this is my soul! This is my soul! I’m a robot on the trampoline. But here… You’re getting 100 percent me. And that’s really scary,” the gymnast confessed to Rita Ora. Maybe that’s exactly why Snoop Dogg enlisted the help of the most decorated gymnast in history.

Has Simone Biles succeeded in making things less intimidating?

While the episode will air on Monday, the duo have already filmed it in LA. Associated Press caught up with eleven-time Olympic medalist and sixteen-time Grammy-nominated rapper. While discussing how they worked with the rookies, Snoop Dogg explained why he chose the defending world champion as his advisor.

“She’s a performer. I’m a performer. We’ve performed under extreme conditions. We always do our best,” Snoop Dogg said about Simone Biles. However, the musician explained that not everyone knows some of the mental preparations that “happen behind closed doors” and how that prepares those who reach the pinnacle of their respective fields.

“So, we’re able to speak to those things and give them real reassurance,” said the 53-year-old. Biles echoed the rapper’s sentiments. “We were able to riff off each other and give the artists the best insight,” Biles said about working with the man who gave her father a special gift in Paris.

And while the 30-time World Championship medalist doesn’t know anything about singing, she knows everything about preparing for the big stage. “These are the learning steps: Learn, process, go back in, and work,” said Simone Biles about committing to any field, whether it’s gymnastics or singing on The Voice. However, only time will tell just how much the participants absorbed during their time with the gymnastics legend.
