It looks like Simone Biles didn’t take any downtime after her outstanding Olympic success. Instead of just chilling at home with her medals, she hit the road on the Gold Over America Tour, bringing the excitement of gymnastics and dance to fans across the country! This tour wasn’t just about performing; it was a chance for Simone and her fellow gymnasts to have fun and enjoy their sport in a relaxed, non-competitive setting. Sponsored mainly by Athleta, it was all about celebrating their love for gymnastics and the friendships they built along the way.
Speaking of teammates, can you believe Trinity Thomas was part of this tour? After facing a tough hurdle in her career, she probably didn’t expect to be included, but there she was, shining alongside stars like Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, and the rest of the crew! It was amazing how she bounced back and was ready to show what she could do in such a supportive atmosphere. As the tour wrapped up on November 3rd, Trinity couldn’t have been more grateful. She even took to Instagram to give a shoutout to Simone Biles for the amazing experience.
Simone Biles’ support lifted Trinity Thomas’ spirits
Trinity Thomas just shared a series of amazing pictures from the Gold Over America Tour, and they really capture what an incredible experience it was for her and her fellow gymnasts. The first shot is stunning—it’s a black-and-white filter of her gracefully making a move on the beam next to Melanie de Jesus dos Santos. Then, you have a fun group photo of the entire U.S. gymnastics team, all wearing shiny golden leotards and smiling like they’re having the time of their lives! It features familiar faces like Jordan Chiles, Simone Biles, Hezly Rivera, Ellie Black, Joscelyn Roberson, and, of course, Trinity herself.
The next few pictures are just as captivating. One shows Trinity back on the beam, and another captures her with a full crew. But then it gets a bit deeper with a darker image that says, “Dear gymnast… you were good to me,” followed by a shot of the gymnasts posing together from behind. The whole post is set to the song “You Were Good to Me” by Jeremy Zucker and Chelsea Cutler, which really ties it all together.
In her caption, Trinity expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you @simonebiles and @goldoveramericatour for giving me another opportunity to do the sport that I love and share that love with the world. I’m so grateful that I got to inspire others and connect with fans across the country. This was an unforgettable experience with a group of some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met! Tour, you were good to me 🤍” It’s clear just how much this tour meant to her, especially after her recent fall at the Xfinity Championships.
Trinity Thomas had to withdraw from the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships. This was a big deal, especially since she had just made her comeback to elite gymnastics after stepping away from the sport in 2021. She was competing in the all-around event alongside some heavy hitters like Simone Biles, Shiles Jones, Jordan Chiles, and Jade Carey. Trinity kicked off her floor routine, but unfortunately, she faced a stumble midway through.
Despite that hiccup, she pushed through to finish her routine, only to falter again at the end while attempting a tricky double layout, which led to her landing on her knees. After taking a moment to gather herself, she walked off the mat, and you could feel the concern from the fans.
As everyone speculated about what might have happened, USA Gymnastics quickly announced that Trinity was pulling out of the rest of the day’s events. “Trinity Thomas is scratching the remainder of today’s competition at #XfinityChamps,” they said. This wasn’t the first time she had to step back since her return; after competing at the 2024 Winter Cup, she also had to withdraw from the 2024 Pacific Rim Championships held in April in Cali, Colombia. However, one can really feel how this experience lifted her spirits and reminded her of the joy that comes from gymnastics and being part of such a supportive community!
