Dallas Cowboys receiver Brandin Cooks has revealed details of how the playing group is moving forward after the blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints. And Dak Prescott backs that up with a warning to the Week 3 visitors.
Be accountable. That’s one of the overriding messages coming out of The Star for the Dallas Cowboys after their Week 2 demolition at the hands of the New Orleans Saints.
With so many things going wrong on both sides of the ball, sometimes the coaches can only do so much to help the team move past it. That’s when it is on the players to provoke a response. Veteran receiver Brandin Cooks has said as much in representing the offense. Star Micah Parsons, repping the defense, has said the same.
And team leader Dak Prescott? He’s cranked up the message …

In a way that comes across as a sort of “warning shot” for Dallas’ Week 3 visitor to AT&T Stadium, the Baltimore Ravens.
Said the QB: “We’re going in and playing our game. And that’s on them on how they’re going to adapt to that. We’re going to be the aggressors and bring it to them.”
Does that mean “get in the first punch,” a concept that echoes the idea that when this bunch gets shoved around early, the shoving never stops? That’s “accountability”-plus … something Cooks is pushing inside The Star.
“Just from the standpoint of players, right, coaches is one thing, but at the end of the day, when we inside this locker room, we’re inside that field like, its got to come from the players,” Cooks said. “You got to hold each other accountable, and at the end of the day, you got to be willing to be held accountable because obviously no one’s perfect.”
Added Micah: “At the end of the day, I just believe we got outplayed. Whoever played on that field, everyone didn’t play to 100 percent. That’s just me being accountable and saying the truth. We all got to play better.”
So, any response on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens will be player-driven, and it appears that the locker room leaders have been hard at work ensuring each player is held accountable for what they put on film last week.
With that level of self-scouting, each player knows the standard and what’s expected of them, and last week, hardly any played to the standard.
Dak Preaching Patience; Cowboys Fans Trusting ‘Process’?Read MoreLuckily, the Cowboys can put all their self-scouting into practice against the Baltimore Ravens as they look to bounce back. … in two strokes. One, by holding each other accountable. And two, by backing up their “warning shot” message to the opponent.
