Tory Lanez isn’t holding back on his new album Peterson, and one of the biggest revelations? Chris Brown was the only one who came through for him when he needed it most.

On the track “T.D.F x LA County Jail”, Lanez gives Brown his flowers, rapping:
“Where was you ni**as when I was in Cali fucked up with no covers to bundle up / Only real ni**a that helped me was Chris Brown, thats really my brother, bruh.”

But he takes it even further on “Free Tory”, where he details just how much Brown had his back when his legal troubles left him struggling to pay for his appeal.
“I had no real, like, access to my funds,” Lanez admitted. “I was fed up. And my lawyer wanted over, like, a quarter million to represent me for the appeal.”
He then explained how he reached out to industry friends for help—only to be left on read.
“So, you know, I started hollering at all my rap friends, my celebrity friends, and nobody was there,” he said.
“Ni**as treating me like I was dead and this ni**a Chris Brown, I’ll never forget it. This ni**a Chris Brown came out of nowhere, bro, he just gave me the money.”
