Anne Hathaway made rooting for Team Birds a family affair as she stepped out at the 2025 Super Bowl on Sunday. Amid the star-studded crowd repping either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome on February 9, The Devil Wears Prada alum was adorably captured in full celebration mode as the Eagles took home the Lombardi trophy. As the camera panned to a beaming Hathaway sporting a green sweater prominently displayed over her shoulders, viewers also caught a glimpse of her 5-year-old son Jack sitting in her lap.
Hathaway, who shares Jack and his older brother Jonathan with husband Adam Shulman, showed that Eagles support runs in her family with the rare mother-son appearance. In contrast to the Idea of You actress’s green cardigan and white tank top pairing, her youngest child went with an Eagles cream hoodie accented with red and blue lining around the collar.
Hathaway–whose late maternal grandfather Joe McCauley was a renowned Philadelphia radio persona–was spotted doing a dance and grinning in the stands as the Eagles scored a touchdown during the game. As the TV cameras then caught a glimpse of Jack, the pair could be seen smiling and waving on the Jumbotron.
It’s clear that Hathaway and her youngest son are big Eagles fans, but it’s not the first time they’ve made an appearance during a sporting event. Back on November 13, the Princess Diaries star brought Jack to Madison Square Garden where they watched the New York Knicks play against the Chicago Bulls. The mother-son pair enjoyed their courtside tickets, with the toddler sporting a blue jersey lined with orange and white.
The actress previously opened up about her decision to raise her kids away from the spotlight, telling PORTER in a November 2023 interview that “It’s something I feel is not just essential for my health—I’m on a team, it’s my family, and it’s not just about me.”
“My family has needs, and one of the needs of children is that they need to be able to define their own lives,” she added. “It doesn’t even occur to me to link the two up, except through gratitude that they serve each other so beautifully. But they serve each other through me, and not through a space that’s outside of myself.”
