Bailey Zimmerman Apologizes for “Absolutely Awful” Performance

Bailey Zimmerman is coming clean. After fans bashed the country star for his performance at Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa Festival, he took to Instagram to apologize for his set.

“I was always raised up to hit problems head on, and never to lie, and always be truthful and honest, even when you’re embarrassed,” Zimmerman began his video. “So, I’d like to talk about something that’s been eating me alive.”

“Last weekend down in Cancun, Mexico, I’m sure everybody’s seen the videos of me playing absolutely awful and singing absolutely awful,” he continued. “I feel like you guys deserve an explanation from me, because you’ve had my back through the highs and lows and through every mistake.”

As for what led to the poor set, Zimmerman said, “I decided to drink that day, which was a mistake, and I got up on stage, and I was too drunk to play. I sang awful. I played awful.”

“Nobody got the show they wanted or paid for,” he said. “I’m disappointed in myself.”

Next, Zimmerman went on to remind fans “how much I’ve talked about God since day one,” before admitting that his performance was “an awful representation of that.”

“To anybody, like I said, that’s embarrassed of me, I’m there. I’m embarrassed as well,” he said. “I’m gonna do everything in my power to make sure this never happens ever again. I want to show you guys the person that I truly am.”

Zimmerman continued his video by “asking for a little bit of grace” and thanking those who have his back.

“We’re going to crush this year,” he said. “But I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I freaking love you guys more than anything in the world and I don’t want to lose ya. So, forgive me?”

In the caption of his post, Zimmerman reiterated the statements he made in the video.

“I’m so sorry to everybody… I know I let yall down… I let my self down… I hope you guys can find some grace and understand that I’m growing up and learning as I go. I’m human,” he wrote. “Tomorrow is a new day… I’m gonna be better I promise. I hope ya know that I love yall more than anything. Again I’m so sorry.”
