Pickleball has become a sporting revolution. The racquet sport’s popularity has surged in the last few years and has grabbed eyeballs all around the world.

Pickleball’s easy playing style has made it a household name. In the USA, it has emerged as one of the most popular sports as people from all age groups have flocked to the court to play pickleball.

Pickleball has also made it to the movies and in “The Idea Of You” the sport was mentioned for a brief period. The movie is about a 40-year-old Solene, played by Anne Hathaway, who rediscovered himself in the film.

During a scene, Solen’s ex-husband Daniel invited her for a game of pickleball citing that the racquet sport is very easy to pick up and one doesn’t have to be athletic to play the game on the court.

Pickleball has made it big in movies of late and Hollywood star Ben Stiller’s production company Red Hour Films all set to produce a movie called “The Dink”. The film will also mark the debut of former tennis star Andy Roddick who has been an avid admirer of the sport.

The fact that pickleball is getting featured in movies regularly goes on to indicate its popularity in the United States. With more and more Hollywood stars showing a keen interest to not just learn but invest in pickleball, it augers well for the sport to become a global phenomenon.
