米大リーグで大谷翔平投手（30）と山本由伸投手（26）が所属するドジャースが来年3月18、19日に東京ドームで行うカブスとの開幕シリーズ「MLB Tokyo Series by Guggenheim」の概要が27日、発表された。３月15、16日には巨人、阪神とのプレシーズンゲームを開催。カブスとの開幕戦のチケットは最高176万円（10人定員のマススイート）で団体席は12月9日、一般席は来年1月9日に受け付け開始。抽選制のため大争奪戦が予想される。
争奪戦のゴングが鳴るのは12月9日だが、それよりも早くチケットを手に入れる方法がないわけではない。MLBのスポンサーになっているマスターカードは、12月6日午後6時から同カードの会員向けの先行販売（先着順）を実施する。
米国で開催されるレギュラーシーズンの試合もマスターカード会員向けの先行販売が行われている。
