Legendary gymnast Simone Biles knows a thing or two about winning gold.
The 11-time Olympic medalist, who was born in Columbus, is set to team up with rapper and 2024 Paris Olympics NBC correspondent Snoop Dogg as a playoff adviser during Monday night’s episode of “The Voice.”
Why is Simone Biles on ‘The Voice’?
NBC announced last week that Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, will appear on the network’s singing competition show for Team Snoop after the legendary rapper reportedly recruited her for the position.
The decision behind Biles, an athlete, coming in for a singing competition is unclear, but it could have something to do with the Olympics and “The Voice” both airing on NBC, and Snoop Dogg’s participation in the network’s Olympic coverage. Biles also has experience performing routines on a major stage.
Simone Biles will serve as a playoff advisor to Team Snoop on NBC’s “The Voice” on Monday night.
“We were able to riff off each other and give the artists the best insight going into the next round,” Biles said in an interview with the AP. “It was pretty easy, simple. We’re both very mellow. But if we need to bring that energy up, then we can. For us, it was about instilling confidence going into the next week.”
Biles, considered by many to be the GOAT in her sport, is coming off her third Olympic Games, where she won four medals: three gold and a silver.
