There were high expectations for Thor: Love and Thunder as it marked the reunion project between Hemsworth and Waititi following the smash hit that was Thor: Ragnarok from 2017. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype, forcing Marvel Studios to once again re-evaluate its approach to the character as they carve out his future. This doesn’t mean, however, that the MCU cannot use the set-up in Thor: Love and Thunder, especially when bringing back certain characters from the movie.

For starters, Hercules’ revenge plot can play out in Thor 5, paving the way for his bigger role in the MCU. Meanwhile, Jane can return if Thor can find a way to reach out to Valhalla, where she and Heimdall were last seen in Thor: Love and Thunder. As for Loki, there are a couple of ways to reunite the brothers. Firstly, Marvel Studios can bring back Sacred Timeline Loki if he is also in Valhalla. Otherwise, the franchise can lead 2012 Loki, who currently runs around with Mobius in an effort to fully understand the multiverse, to his Asgardian brother.
