“It’s about creating stories that my kids can look back on and say ‘Wow, remember we used to do that with dad?’” he told T+L of taking family trips.
Kevin Hart is always on the go. And whether it’s in the literal sense, as his nationwide comedy tour is currently underway or he’s making business moves with the launch of a new tequila, the travels he takes with his family have always been his favorite journey.
“I love traveling with my kids and creating family memories we can hold on to,” Hart told Travel + Leisure in a recent interview. “That’s my job as a father, [to give] my kids as much to remember and look back on, so our family vacations are always celebrated.”
The 45-year-old comic and actor, who is a father of 4, told T+L that although the Hart family has their go-to places when it comes to traveling, they’re game for new destinations as well.
“We’re big on the concept of Thanksgiving family gatherings, beach vacations, water activities, boats, things of that sort. It’s about creating stories that my kids can look back on and say ‘Wow, remember we used to do that with dad?’” he said. “We are Aspen lovers and the holidays in Aspen are great.”
“My wife wants to go to Bali, and we have to go.” he added.
Closer to home and traversing the country for his comedy shows, Hart, who is currently on his “Acting My Age” tour, is deeply connected to his fans.
“Just being able to go out and reach people and perform for people is a big win, a big bonus for me,” he said, mentioning that performing in his hometown of Philadelphia is extra meaningful.
“Philadelphia is always going to stand out because that’s the place that birthed me, the place that made me, and the fanfare there ultimately helped shape and mold me into who I am today,” he said.
When it comes to other ventures, one of Hart’s off-stage projects includes partnering with 11th-generation tequila maker Juan Domingo Beckmann to create Gran Coramino.
“We have an amazing story behind our product,” Hart said, explaining that their tequilas include Cristalino, Anejo and the newly released Reposado, which all purposely come with an affordable price tag.
“We’re not coming in crazy; we’re not trying to gauge,” he said. “We’re giving you an elevated version of premium with a taste that doesn’t exist at this price point on the shelves.”
How Hart enjoys it, though? “I sip and enjoy; that’s what it is for me. I’ll enjoy it with a nice steak dinner and don’t mind some tequila with pasta.”
Although for the actor — who regularly has roles in box office comedies and just launched his fourth season of his celebrity talk show Heart to Hart on Peacock — sipping tequila may be the only time he slows down.
“Finding more is what we’re now seeking to do, so as the opportunities present themselves, as the material continues to present itself, the thought of ‘what else’ is something that I will dive a little deeper into,” he said. “I want to be able to say that I’ve done a lot in my career, and I’ve tried a lot, and that’s what it’s about.”
