In the world of gymnastics, athletes need their bodies to be as strong and capable as possible to perform at the highest level. Their training and nutrition routines are critical and must be followed rigorously, with almost no days off.
A proof of the physical demands this sport requires is the early retirements we often see. Athletes over 30 are typically considered close to retirement age, as maintaining peak physical condition becomes increasingly challenging.
The 27-year-old gymnastics superstar with seven Olympic medals, Simone Biles, is well aware of this reality. In her docuseries Simone Biles Rising, part two, fans get an intimate look at the journey of the gymnastics G.O.A.T. as she prepares for the Paris Olympics. She humorously acknowledges that her age is “old for a gymnast” and that she has to be more careful, describing herself as feeling like “a ticking time bomb” for an injury.

Despite this, Biles believes she’s in excellent form and ready for anything that comes her way. As she looks toward the next Olympics, she’s made it clear that we shouldn’t count her out. “Never say never,” she told ‘Today’ in August. “The next Olympics is on home turf. So you just never know. I’m just going to relax and see where life takes me.”
We can definitely look forward to seeing Biles in the next Olympics. She is in superb form and more mature than ever, which only enhances her skill. Retirement may be on the horizon, but for now, Biles is still going strong, and she knows more than anyone that only time will tell. We just have to keep enjoying her.
