Halloween 2024 may be behind us but folks on the internet are still sharing their best costume looks. While many are opting for spooky getups in keeping with the spirit of Halloween, Instagram user Kaysie Cargill Bradburn shared a unique one. Bradburn and her children dressed up as famous sports personalities, including the legendary Simone Biles and her coach Cecile Landi.
“For TCA’s Famous or Fashion Disaster Day, I present to you… TEAM USA!!” wrote Bradburn as she posted the various looks from their daily activity. However, the family didn’t just dress up as famous sportspersons but also recreated some iconic moments. In the very first image, Bradburn and her daughter Willa recreated an iconic still of Biles and Landi from the Tokyo Olympics.
The image captured the gymnastics icon standing beside her coach with a bronze medal in her hand. So, Kaysie Cargill Bradburn dressed in the same colors as Landi, while her daughter wore a leotard-inspired two-piece and held up a medal in her hand. “Willa as the GOAT, Simone Biles. Myself as her amazing Coach, Cecile Landi,” Bradburn captioned the post.
The mother-daughter duo’s recreation of the Olympic moment was so impressive that the 45-year-old took notice. “Love it!!” Cecile Landi commented on Bradburn’s post. The mother and her daughter also recreated another, close-up photograph of Ladi embracing Biles from behind. Even the official Team USA Instagram handle took notice of the wholesome family cosplay.
“Nailed it,” commented the Team USA page. However, the Bradburn family’s appreciation for gymnastics didn’t stop with Simone Biles and Cecile Landi. While Kaysie Cargill Bradburn and her adoptive daughter recreated two moments between the gymnastics GOAT and her coach, her youngest son Jonah dressed up as Team USA’s newest star, the Pommel Horse Guy, Stephen Nedoroscik.

The second-grader recreated stills of Nedoroscik sitting with eyes closed ahead of his pommel horse finals at Bercy Arena. However, the second photograph was an even more iconic one where Jonah Bradburn replicated the now iconic move of Nedoroscik taking off his glasses before hopping on the pommel horse. Finally, her eldest son Jude appeared as soccer star Christian Pulisic. However, of all the images, the choice of Biles and her coach’s picture was interesting.
How Cecile Landi helped Simone Biles get through the Tokyo turmoil
In February 2024, Simone Bile told Vanity Fair she felt like a failure after Tokyo 2020. Despite feeling confident ahead of the 2020 Summer Games, Biles suffered a tough bout of the ‘twisties’. Despite her best efforts, the gymnast couldn’t create the synergy between her mind and body. So after a shaky start during the vault, the Olympian withdrew.
And while the world was quick to pick sides, Cecile and Laurent Landi showed nothing but compassion. While some called Biles brave, others called the gymnast a ‘quitter.’ However, the Landis stood by their pupil’s decision. So when Simone Biles decided to return for the balance beam finals, the 45-year-old was there to help.
“I could see in her eyes that she wanted to do it,” Landi later told the Washington Post. While the eleven-time Olympic medalist didn’t win gold on the balance beam at Tokyo, her 14.000 score was enough for a bronze medal. While the Olympian would return empty-handed, it was Cecile Landi who helped her earn that bronze in Tokyo.
Even today, when Cecile Landi joined the gymnastics program at the University of Georgia after Simone Biles’ success in Paris, the duo have remained close. “She is not only here for our gymnastics; she’s here for our well-being as humans. It was kind of the perfect team we put together to take my gymnastics to new heights,” Biles confessed about her coach. So it’s no wonder fans such as Kaysie Cargill Bradburn feel inspired to replicate the duo.
