Kourtney Kardashian was criticised by fans who said the £26,000 1st birthday celebrations of her son at Disneyland Club 33 was distasteful amid country’s financial woes
Reality TV Kourtney Kardashian has been blasted by fans over the extravagant birthday bash of her one-year old son Rocky.
The 45 year old mum of four, who is part of the Kardashian clan, held the party at the exclusive Disneyland Club 33 in LA, which reportedly cost the reality TV star more than £26,000. The TV star, who has three children with Scott Disick and shares her one year old son with drummer Travis Barker, shared a series of pictures of the party with fans on social media.
And while some fans congratulated the star, many slammed her for “flaunting” her wealth and being “tone deaf” to the financial struggles many in America are currently facing. The photo album on social media consisted of pictures of balloons, a food stand, a merry-go-round and Mickey Mouse.
Membership of the exclusive venue reportedly charges a joining fee of up to $50,000 and an annual fee of $35,000, which includes VIP tours and private events. Kourtney captioned her post: “Happy 1.” But some fans were unimpressed by her lavish celebrations. One person wrote: “Ppl are losing their rights, Kourtney.”
Another fan said: “Girl we DO NOT give a F**K rn.” Meanwhile a third person commented: “This is the Most tone-deaf post I’ve seen from a celebrity all day.” And a fourth penned: “Timing, not ideal.” A fifth fan wrote: “Extravagant parties like this in an economy like this? Read the room. Most mothers are struggling to feed their babies right now. Maybe tone it down just a bit.”
And another fumed: “Over the F*****G top….Completely NAUSEATING! So what’s next, gotta top each year? Sending a sad message to raising a decent human being. Sheesh.” But this is not the first time the star, who is the older sister of Kim Kardashian, has come under fire for her “disconnected” social media posts.
Days before the lavish celebrations of her son, she was criticised for being “shameless” over a birthday post for her friend, PR Simon Huck. She had sent a birthday cake to Simon that had the words “Lemme Eat Cake.” And while Simon proudly showed off Kourtney’s present, which appeared to honour Marie Antoinette’s quote “Let them eat cake.”
The French Queen was believed to have said the words after finding out that her starving society had no bread. And so, it comes as no surprise that fans slammed her for her “disconnect” as millions of Americans are left concerned over rising costs and the daily struggles many face.
Taking to Reddit, one person wrote: “Wow. Just a big f**k you to the rest of us. Can’t wait to see them fall.” Another said: “Oh the reference is definitely intentional. Beyond tasteless and gross. Fits them all perfectly.” Meanwhile a third fumed: “Glad to know no matter how the election goes this family will still be grossly protected by their disgusting amount of wealth while the rest of us scramble to vote to save our livelihoods.”
