The Olympic gymnast has gotten some backlash.
It has been a very bittersweet year for Simone Biles, to say the least. In fact, it has essentially been an emotional rollercoaster. First, she saw boyfriend Jonathan Owens sign a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears, springing the couple to a whole new city. Then, she dominated the Summer Olympics in Paris, winning three gold medals and becoming the U.S. gymnast with the most Olympic medals ever.
She was able to enjoy those feats for a few months, but Tuesday’s U.S. Presidential Election has taken the wind out of her sails. Biles was a big supporter of Kamala Harris, who lost handily to Donald Trump on his way to being re-elected as the next President. It’s safe to say that Biles has not taken the decision lightly.

Biles posted a few stories on Instagram, referencing posts that called out voters who elected a “convicted felon” who has been “found liable for sexual abuse”.
Biles is particularly perturbed due to what a Trump presidency might mean to women, especially since abortion rights were on ballots in several states. Biles also took to X to plead outgoing President Joe Biden to “make some things shake” before leaving office.
It’s unclear exactly what she meant by the post, but she’s likely referring to implementing safeguards for women in various ways.
