She heats up the big screen in a leather catsuit in her latest film, but Scarlett Johansson hardly disappointed out of her costume tonight.

The 27-year-old actress wowed at the world premiere of Marvel’s action assemble, The Avengers, this evening in Hollywood.

In a nod to her character, sexy red haired spy Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, the stunner donned a black, peplum-style Versace dress which made the most of her curves.

She accessorised with delicate Giuseppe Zanotti sandals as well as Van Cleef and Arpels jewellery.

She kept her eye make-up minimal and pretty, but wore her blond hair in a strange, yet artful, updo.

Johansson also played the saucy spy in 2010’s superhero film Iron Man 2.

Another standout at the world premiere was How I Met Your Mother star Colbie Smulders.

The 30-year-old Canadian actress showed a lot of skin in a daring black gown with a plunging neckline.

She plays S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in the movie, who works closely with Samuel L. Jackson’s character Nick Fury.

The Hills alum Audrina Patridge also attended as a guest.

The 26-year-old reality star wore a daring, long-sleeved cherry red mini-dress with a pair of bright pink pumps.

Aside from a few carefully selected stunners heating up the red carpet, the event was predominantly dominated by men.

It’s fitting, considering that a slew of superheroes join forces in the ensemble movie, which is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name.

Chris Evans once again plays Steve Rogers/Captain America.

The film’s plot revolves around Nick Fury and the international S.H.I.E.L.D. agency, who bring together a team of superheroes called The Avengers to help save earth from the evil Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

The film was written and directed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon.

It hits American movie theatres on May 4.
