“Get Really Anxious”: Paige Spiranac Challenges Her Mental Stress Issues as Once-Abandoned Career Allows a New Chance

Golfer Paige Spiranac has always been upfront about her struggle with anxiety and mental stress for the last few years. She retired from the sport at the age of 29 in 2016 because of her challenges with mental health. But fans are going to see her in action once again at the Creator Classic showcasing her exceptional golf skills from August 28! However, the question is, has she been feeling better? Well, know that from the golfer herself.

In a video, she posted on her YouTube channel on August 15, 2024, Spiranac talked about how she was feeling before the big tournament. “I’m nervous, I’m nervous, as you guys know I get really anxious,” said the female golfer talking to her audience. She further explained the parts of the game that make her most anxious, and these included tournament and stroke play. “I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to, uh, tournament play, around stroke play, I’ve gone into a kinda like my mental journey of playing and keeping score.”

This is not the first time Spiranac has opened up about her struggles with anxiety. Before this, on March 2023, she told the New York Post about the time she reached a point of burnout, not just with golf, but with dedicating her life to a single thing. “Golf is such an interesting sport because you can work out, eat right, practice, and still not achieve your goals. That was something for me that I just couldn’t wrap my head around,” she said.

However, the golfer didn’t give up and now she is a beacon of inspiration to many golfers.
