アメリカ大統領選挙で勝利したトランプ氏は、投票日から2日後の7日、政権の要となる大統領首席補佐官に、みずからの選挙対策本部を率いてきた女性を起用すると発表しました。女性の首席補佐官起用は初めてだとしていて、来年1月の2期目の政権発足に向けて、早速人事に着手しました。
トランプ氏は7日声明を発表し、大統領首席補佐官にスーザン・ワイルズ氏を起用すると発表しました。声明で「ワイルズ氏は、私がアメリカの歴史上、最も偉大な政治的な勝利の1つを得るために助けてくれた」として、選挙戦でのワイルズ氏の貢献をたたえました。そのうえで「ワイルズ氏はタフで、頭がよく、革新的な人物で、広く尊敬されている。ワイルズ氏はアメリカを再び偉大にするために働いてくれるだろう。アメリカ史上初となる女性の首席補佐官に、ワイルズ氏を迎えることは名誉なことだ」としています。トランプ氏は、投票日から2日後に早速人事に着手した形で、来年1月の2期目の政権発足に向けて動きを本格化させています。
