Paige Spiranac is being linked to Happy Gilmore 2 after reports that Adam Sandler got the gears running for the sequel to his iconic 1996 film, which came late in August.
Sandler appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on August 21 and talked about beginning the writing process for the highly-awaited follow-up to one of his classics.
With the cast being built and Travis Kelce already promised a cameo in the film, fans are linking the biggest golf influencer today to the project.
In March, Sandler’s co-star Christopher McDonald, who played villain Shooter McGavin in the film, teased that the comedian had begun writing the sequel on an appearance on 92.3 The Fan.
‘I saw Adam about two weeks ago, and he says, ‘McDonald, you’re gonna love this,” McDonald said. ‘He shows me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2. He did show me that, and I thought, ‘Wow, that would be awesome.’ So it’s in the works. Fans, demand it, damnit!’

Since McDonald’s comments, fans took to social media and pitched their dream cast for the sequel. Satirical golf account Tour Golf shared a lineup on X, that included Spiranac as ‘Public Relations Lady’ and Sydney Sweeney as ‘Cart Girl’.
As the fantasy cast was seen by over 13million users, Spiranac shared a photo recreating one of the iconic scenes from the film, writing: ‘I was born ready.’
The original movie tells the story of Happy Gilmore – a washed-up hockey player turned golf sensation.
After finding out that his grandmother’s home is at risk of being repossessed, he joined the PGA tour and racked up prize money ahead of the antagonist, McGavin.
The scene Spiranac recreated was when Chubbs – Gilmore’s coach – advised him to go to his ‘happy place.’ When he did so in his mind, he was greeted by the PR woman, played by Julie Bowen, who was holding two pitchers of beer, wearing lingerie and lounging in a deck chair.

Spiranac’s take on the scene came from a 2022 campaign while acting as an ambassador for accessory brand, Swagg Golf.
Fans were quick to get behind Spiranac after the film’s announcement.
‘This needs to happen,’ one user wrote while another added, ‘Now I am in my Happy place.’
No target release date has been announced for the movie, as it is still in its early stages.
